My journey in choosing to work with individuals with special needs and their families comes from a place of personal experience. My brother was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. With us being only a year and a half apart, I grew up witnessing the profound advancement of the developmental disability community. Observing the shifts in perceptions, policies, and inclusion efforts has illuminated the power of advocacy and solidarity. From increased accessibility to enhanced educational opportunities, each stride forward reflects a collective commitment to equality and empowerment. As we celebrate progress made, we also acknowledge the challenges that remain, fueling our resolve to pave a more inclusive path for future generations.
